Many ICQ users have asked us how to configure their software in a manner that allows them to place DharmaPhone calls from within ICQ's menus. Is you follow the instructions provided below, calling someone in Internet is as simple as selecting his or her icon and use ICQ's menus to initiate DharmaPhone.

  Note: To place calls DharmaPhone calls using ICQ, you need at least version 1.1 Beta 4 (click here to download the latest version).

Configuration Steps

  Using ICQ's menu, open Preferences dialog. Select the "Internet Phone/Games/Chat' tab.

  You will find here a list of external programs that can be used directly from within ICQ. Click on the button labeled 'New External'.

  A window appears where you must enter the information ICQ needs to know about DharmaPhone: an identifier name, a path to the executable file and the arguments required to place an Internet Call.

  In the "External Application Name' option type anyting you want to identify DharmaPhone. It's the way DharmaPhone will appear under ICQ's menus.

  In 'External Application Executable' you have to type the full path to DharmaPhone's executable file. If you do not remember where you placed it during download, use the 'Browse' button to navigate your hard disk contents.

  Finally, in 'Command Line', you type the arguments that ICQ must pass DharmaPhone to initiate an Internet Call. You must type '/callto:%i' (note: everything MUST appear in lowercase).

  You can now use ICQ to place Internet Calls. To establish a conversation with someone else, select he's or her's icon, click the right mouse button, and select 'Internet Phone/Games': The DharmaPhone icon should appear in the list. Just click on it.
